A Special Investigative Team (SIT), set up specially to identify the fake degrees being issued at the university, has indicated that this racket has been running for almost a decade and over 100 degrees have been issued to relatives of university employees who did not even study in the university.
In a scam whose magnitude and timespan is yet to be ascertained, thousands of fake degrees were distributed by the Dr. BR Ambedkar University, Agra during the past decade. The university holds the distinction of having several national, political and social personalities of India as its students and the Union Minister of State for HRD Ram Shankar Katheriya is a professor in this university.
